The Bank of America Foundation has awarded RHCDA a $25,000 grant for our CDC Capacity Building and Collaborative Grant Program.
The program provides professional development to the staff and board members of local Community Development Corporations (CDC's), including individualized technical assistance and group training classes. RHCDA also provides digital mapping and database management services to assist CDC's in planning their development activities and tracking important neighborhood information. RHCDA selects a limited number of local CDC's to participate in its Collaborative Grant Program. These organizations receive enhanced capacity building technical assistance coupled with operating support grants. Since the Collaborative was started the program has made over $2 million in operating support grants to 15 local organizations. In turn, these organizations have successfully developed over 1,200 homes and apartments, representing $182 million of new capital investments in St. Louis area neighborhoods. Other program funders include Enterprise Community Partners, Commerce Bank, the M&I Foundation (Southwest Bank), First Bank and UMB. |

"Fighting the drug crime here was met with moderate success until RHCDA partnered with us to buy out 93 units of problem properties; now the drug activity has been eradicated...it was a good place to live, now Forest Park Southeast is a great place to live." - Phil Minden, Resident, Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood |
